The Truth About Abs - What Is The Truth About Getting Six Pack Abs?

Maybe you've also watched the infomercials, tried the cardio routines and done the endless crunches to get ripped and lean, but have found that almost none of them work like you thought.

Truth is, there are only 3 big ingredients to getting a true six pack. Usually, you don't need to get any bigger abdominal muscles, but rather burn off the fat that is covering them right now.

Instead of trying to build more defined abs with ab exercises, which would obviously help make your abs bigger, but not burn off the abdominal fat covering them, you should be doing intense workouts and ingesting proper food to burn off the fat.

The first ingredient to getting a ripped six pack is to do resistance training to build muscle and boost your metabolism. Do this 3 times per week and be sure to lift heavy weights and focus on compound movements.

The second part of the equation is a solid cardio program to burn off the fat covering your abs. This is best done with high intense interval training. This is intense cardio done in a interval fashion. My recommended protocol is 30 seconds "all out effort" followed by 30 seconds rest, walk or jog. Start with 6 rounds and add one round each week until you reach 16 rounds (16 minutes) then try to go further each session. Do this every day you are not in the gym.

Last but not least, your nutrition plan. Try to eat as much natural and organic foods as possible. These foods include fruits, vegetables, lean meats, dairy and healthy fats. I try to eat as much foods as possible with only "one ingredient", orange, chicken breast, etc.

This is pretty much the fastest and easiest way to get ripped fast. All you need now is time and dedication in the gym in order to make it work for you. The longer you keep going the more you'll get ripped, and the harder you work the sooner it will work. Keep at it, never give up!

So, beach weather is just returning to Florida. You head out to the beach in a good mood and a nice swim suit. You are ready to have a good time when you notice all the people out there with six pack abs.

You start to think you won't bother going to the beach this year and you become a little jealous. Why can't you have a wash board stomach? Well, you can, with a good diet and target exercising. By eating foods that are high in protein and low in fat, you can lose weight and trim off fat from your belly. No matter how strong your abs are, nobody will see these muscles if they have a layer of fat covering them. Shedding this fat will make for a more satisfying set of results.

There are three main groups of abs. There are the upper abs, lower abs and oblique muscles, which are the side ab muscles. A complete abs workout will target all three.

Your upper abs are those around the rib cage. Lower abs are the ones in the pelvic area. As mentioned, the obliques are along the sides of your waist.

To isolate the uppers, lie on the floor with your knees bent. Raise your chest like a traditional crunch or sit-up. While you do this, place your hand over the upper ab region. Notice the tightening. Any exercise you do to target these muscles will give you that tightening feeling. For working the lowers, lie flat on your back with your legs straight up in the air, toes pointing to the ceiling. Lift your butt off the floor by attempting to touch the ceiling with your toes. Again, with your hand, feel the muscles being worked.

A good way to isolate the obliques is to get into the traditional crunch position again. Only this time, swivel your hips so that both your knees are pointing to one side. As you lift your chest, twist your torso to the other side. With a hand on the side of your waist, feel the targeted muscle.

This describes only one exercise to target each of the three muscle groups of the abdominals. You can experiment with different to work each one. Test out each new position by placing your hand on the specific muscle to ensure it is being worked. By doing this, you can create your own exercises that are comfortable and work for you.
